These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of BetterCallAlex, a product of Salt City Labs LLC (“BetterCallAlex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), available at bettercallalex.ai (the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to bind the business or entity you represent to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

BetterCallAlex provides an AI phone receptionist platform that:
The Service relies on third-party providers (telephony, AI models, hosting) and is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
The Service is offered on a subscription basis with multiple plan tiers. Current pricing is available at bettercallalex.ai. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing customers.
New accounts may be eligible for a free trial. Trial duration and limits are described at signup. After the trial ends, your account will convert to a paid plan unless cancelled.
Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly). By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable subscription fee through our payment processor, Stripe.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will continue to have access until then. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.
If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you and retry the charge. If payment cannot be collected, we may suspend or terminate your access.
You agree not to use the Service to:

You retain ownership of the content and data you provide to the Service, including business information, call recordings, and integration data (“Customer Content”).
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use, store, process, and transmit Customer Content as necessary to provide and improve the Service.
When your AI receptionist handles a call, the caller's voice, words, and any information they provide become part of your call records. You are responsible for compliance with applicable call recording laws in your jurisdiction, including notifying callers when required.
By enabling SMS notifications in your BetterCallAlex account, you agree to receive automated text messages from BetterCallAlex at the phone number you provide. Messages may include:
Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. BetterCallAlex is not responsible for carrier charges incurred from these messages.

Consent to receive SMS notifications is not a condition of using BetterCallAlex services.
The Service may integrate with third-party services (Calendly, Square, etc.) that you choose to connect. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies, not ours. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of third-party services.
The Service, including all software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by Salt City Labs LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that the AI receptionist will handle calls without error. The Service relies on large language models which may produce incorrect or unexpected responses.
You are responsible for reviewing your AI receptionist's configuration and output, and for any business decisions made based on the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BetterCallAlex and Salt City Labs LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BetterCallAlex, Salt City Labs LLC, and our officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately, and we may delete your account data subject to the retention provisions in our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date. For material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
